The Master Manipulator

So, last night Mick fell prey to Joshua yet again. I often amazed at how easily Joshua out manuvers his dad to get exactly what he wants! I came downstairs last night and Joshua was happily sitting at the table drinking a coke. I asked him where he got the soda at and he said that his dad said he could have it. When Mick came up from the basement I asked him why he was letting Joshua have a coke at 7:00 in the evening. Mick responded that I had said it was ok, he had Joshua ask me. I told him that Joshua had not asked me anything. I went over to Joshua and asked him if he had asked me if he could have a coke, he slyly smiled and said yes. I then said that he was going to time out for lying. He said "No mom I did ask you." and smiled again, so I asked him, "Did I answer?" he reasponded "No" with a sad little face. I then told him to go and sit in time out for lying to his dad. While he was in timeout I asked him why he did not come and ask me if he could have a coke and he said "Because I knew that you would say no." Even the kids know the rules.... I will give Joshua this, once he knew he was busted he went into timeout and sat with no problems, he knew that he had been caught.

Joshua the Photographer!

Joshua got hold of the digital camera and actually took some pretty good pictures of his brother, dad and I. I wanted to share a couple of them here.

Daddy & Joseph

We are ALIVE!! We have been busier than a "one eyed cat watching three rat holes" as my friend Linda Lowman would say :-) Going to post some pics and will try and catch up with more detailed posting later :-)

Here is Mick and I at Churchill Downs, we RARELY EVER get to go out on dates so this was a lot of fun and it was good to finally make it out there since we have never been in the 5 years that we have lived here!

Hello to all,
I know it's been over a month since my last post. It has been a VERY busy summer for us here in the Parrott household!
As you all know Tzeitel, my little sister was preganant. She and her boyfriend Dave welcomed Ivey Athen Austin into their lives on August 11, 2008. She is beautiful, and Tzeitel has taken to motherhood very well, I am very proud of her. The boys just continue to crack me up and amaze me on a daily basis. I need to start posting some of the things that get said to me... Joshua says the funniest and craziest things!!
Joseph is talking up a storm, although there are days that you can not understand a word that he says.

The latest addition to the family is Mick's new motorcycle. Yes after two years, I gave in. It was a purchase easy to justify with Mick driving 90 miles a day back and forth to work. I joke with Mick that I am going to up his life insurance, but he assures me that he is taking it easy. It's hard to trust a former adrenaline junkie.

Well, I hope to get some pictures and videos posted soon.
We love you lots, and I leave you with a picture of my new niece Ivey.

Here is a video of the boys at Waterfront Wednesdays. The video is a bit long, but check out the "air guitar" by Joshua at the end HILARIOUS

I just wanted to share the video of Joseph sportring a mohawk. We have since cut his hair, but I love how Mick calls him Sid Snot :-) The scary thing is that the mohawk totally fits his personality. Check out the dumb dog "Wags" chasing his tail in the background!

Joshua and the blow dryer

Not much to say to that one. He takes after his father, who takes more time than I do to get ready

Here is the boys from February playing in the kitchen. As usual with most videos that involve both boys, I was taping Joshua and got Joseph playing in Daddy's shoes in the background. These two never cease to amaze me. Now that we have room on the camera again, expect more videos to come. Now that they are playing outside the hilarity ensues!

FINALLY AN UPDATE!!

So, I am running behind in my life as usual.... , but I finally uploaded all of the video to the computer so I am posting some videos of the kids.

Here is the first one, Easter Sunday when we got back from the Easter Egg Hunt. Joseph was enthralled with the snow and I love his enthusiasm. Keep your eye on Joshua as well....

Easter,
Well, here it is Easter Sunday. Of course the kids were up early, but I have to tell you I am quickly not liking this holiday very much. Don't get me wrong I love and respect the reason for the holiday, but I am not a fan of all of the candy and chocolate that seems to go along with it. I know you are all thinking that if you don't want your kids to have the sweets then just don't give them any, hey I am all for that, just tell that to the biggest kid in the house, my husband. :-) This morning Joshua wanted to eat his Fun Dip that came with the Easter Baskets that Mick bought for the kids without asking me. They of course were filled with candy, but back to the Fun Dip.; For those of you who don't know it's basically colored sugar that you eat with a candy stick. So, I told Joshua no, his response to me, very much something his dad would say, was I wish you were no here! I could not believe it. I know it's because daddy lets them do whatever they want. Yesterday was my day to sleep in, and when I came downstairs, our family room was filled with candy wrappers and the boys were bouncing off the walls. Mick had given them all of the cholcolate filled Easter eggs that they had gotten at school, and just let them eat whatever they wanted. It was crazy, they were so wired up on candy that we never really did get them down for naps. Anyway I am just venting.

HAVE A GREAT AND HAPPY EASTER!

Here is then last video of the day, it's Joshua playing his guitar and Joseph totally being the back up singer. Also some of Joseph talking
Here is one of Joseph asleep in the car. I finally figured out how to link these off of You Tube, so much quicker. Eventually I plan on having a link on the blog to take you straight to You Tube to watch the vidoes at you leisure, but until I can get that figured out, this will have to do. One last video to follow after this one
Here is a FUNNY Video of Joshua. Boy what a die-hard John Mayer fan he is!!!

Different Drug Problem

This was posted in my office today and I thought it was right on track, so I decided to share

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Meth lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhtorical question, "Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?".
I replied, I had a drug problem when I was young: I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals. I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.
I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults. I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.
I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity. I was drug out to pull out weeds in my mom's garden and flower beds and cockleburs out of dad's fields. I was drug to the homes of family, friends and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clotheline, or chop some firewood, and, if my mother had ever known that I took single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.
Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything that I do, say, or think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.
God Bless the parents that drugged us.

Enough Said!

This is a sure scene of brotherly love (NOT)

I know!
I have been BAD, and I don't have a good excuse other than I have been SUPER busy! I had two trials back to back and then Christmas.... I am exhausted. I am trying to figure out why for the last several years, I always seem to be getting ready for a trial right at the holiday season, can't these lawyers just take some time off (hahahaha!)
I do have some great Halloween pictures of the kids and some cute videos from Christmas. We got an awesome new video camera from my dad, so we totally forgot to take pictures of the holiday. At least I can make some still shots from the video. I think that I should be back and running on all cylinders in about a week, so until then, you are just going to have to be patient (hahaha) I do have some video on my laptop, so if I can sneek anymore time in at work I'll upload a video today. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. My resolution is to actually get Christmas Cards sent out... two years in a row I have bought them only to be foiled by litigation and before I know it, it's after Christmas and they have not been sent... oh well. Updates coming soon!
